Taekwondo

Training involves a variety of techniques, to include punching, kicking, dodging, jumping, parrying and blocking. Taekwondo also focuses on sparring and learning formal patterns of movement called forms.

 Self-Defense

Regardless of your age, sex or physical ability, wouldn't it be great if you knew how to defend yourself against possible physical aggression? Many assaults happen as a result of domestic violence.

Self-Defense instruction is incorporated into all of our programs whether it is Taekwondo, Judo, Krav Maga or Safety N.E.T. Kids. Our goal is to teach our students how best to stay safe.

Taekwondo allows a woman to emphasize many of her natural physical strengths, such as power in the legs, while learning a method of self-defense efficient against a much larger opponent. Knowing you can defend yourself, your confidence will grow. And confidence alone is usually enough to deter potential attackers.

Self-confidence can be developed over a period of time as your skill level increases. Young children can learn ways they can recognize danger, the steps they can take to avoid danger, and most importantly, what to do when danger does present itself through the Safety N.E.T. Kids program.

3 Things You Can Do Instantly to Make Yourself Safer:

    1. Keep yourself aware of what is going on around you. Keep your head up and your eyes looking around you. You will become less of a target if you are looking confident and aware of what's going on. Attackers look for easy prey -- those who look weak or aren't paying attention.
    2. Don't put yourself in a questionable situation. Staying away from trouble areas decreases the odds that you will become a victim. Use common sense -- if an environment doesn't seem safe to you, it probably isn't.
    3. Don't be embarrassed or timid about asking a trusted person to watch you while you walk to your car. Attackers like surprise and if someone's watching you, they are likely to stay away. Keep your keys ready BEFORE you walk out to your car. Don't look for them when you've gotten to your car.

Krav Maga

Self-DefenseKrav Maga is the official self defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces, founded and formed by Imi Lichtenfeld and has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies and thousands of civilians in the United States. It is a simple, effective self defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, practical techniques, and realistic training scenarios.

Krav Maga teaches how to prevent, deal and overcome all kinds of violence and attacks, prepares the trainees in the subjects of self-defense, self protection, fighting and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others.

Safety N.E.T. Kids

Kids Safety LessonBecause of the alarming numbers of children abducted or assaulted yearly, Morris Dynamics chose to become one of a few organizations nationwide certified to teach the Safety N.E.T. Kids program.

This program is an exciting way to teach and introduce important skills aimed at helping to ensure your child's safety.

N.E.T. stands for "No Easy Targets" and will introduce kids to the ways they can recognize danger, the steps they can take to avoid danger, and most importantly, what to do when danger does present itself.
